Vowel team
A vowel team is two or more letters that together spell one vowel sound, such as ai, ee, oa, igh and ow.
Vowel teams come after silent e in most sequences. The hard part is that one sound can have several teams, so spelling requires knowing which team is used in which position.
Why it matters for the record
Expect Developing ratings to last longer here than elsewhere. A month at Developing on a vowel team is not unusual.
