    Move up a plan or a band any time, prorated from that day. Move down and it takes effect at your next renewal.

  • Archive frees a seat

    Archive a student you have stopped teaching and the seat frees up. Their history stays, and they can be restored.

  • Refer a colleague

    They get a 30-day free trial instead of 15 days when they start a plan with a card. When they make their first payment, you get a month of your plan as credit on your next bill, for up to 6 colleagues.

Billing questions

Which plan should I pick?
Family if you teach your own children, up to 5 of them. Educator if you are a tutor, reading specialist or classroom teacher with your own caseload or small groups; pick the band that covers your students and it moves up on its own if you add more. School when several educators need one shared roster, or when your school pays by invoice or purchase order. Start on the closest plan; you can switch at any time from Plan and billing.
When am I charged?
At the end of the 15-day trial, for the plan and period you picked. Cancel before then and nothing is charged.
Is there a free plan?
Every plan starts with a 15-day free trial with a card on file, so you can try everything before anything is charged. There is no separate free plan for new accounts.
Can I switch between weekly, monthly and yearly, or between Family and Educator?
Yes, from Plan and billing, with the new price shown before you confirm. Moving up is prorated from that day; moving down takes effect at your next renewal. Weekly billing is available on Family and on the Educator 25 band.
What counts as a student?
An active student record. On a paid plan, archive a student you are no longer teaching and the seat frees up; their history stays and they can be restored.
What if I teach more than 25 students?
Educator comes in three bands: up to 25 for $14.99 a month, up to 50 for $24.99, up to 100 for $39.99 (yearly: $139.99, $229.99, $369.99). Nothing to work out: add a student past your band and the plan moves up on its own, prorated from that day. Archive below a band and it moves down at your next renewal. More than 100 is the School plan.
What happens when I cancel?
Access continues to the end of the period you paid for. If you cancel, everything you recorded stays readable and exportable; recording new sessions needs an active plan.
Do you offer refunds?
Charged by mistake, or forgot to cancel? Write to hello@literacytrail.com within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it. Part-used periods after that are not refunded; cancel early instead.
How does the School plan work?
$5 per student per year, from 75 students ($375). Educators are unlimited, so a school pays for the students it serves, not for seats. Tell us your student count through the contact page and we set it up with you the same day; pay by card to start right away, or ask for an invoice with your purchase order number. An invoiced plan starts when the invoice is paid, within 30 days. It includes one shared roster with owner, admin, educator and viewer roles, curricula shared across the team, and setup help. The count grows in steps of 25 as the roster grows and moves down at renewal.
