Reading intervention (RTI and MTSS)
Reading intervention is extra, targeted instruction for students who are behind, usually in small groups, on top of classroom teaching.
Schools organise it in tiers under frameworks called RTI (response to intervention) or MTSS (multi-tiered system of supports). Documentation of what was taught, how often and with what result is part of the process.
Why it matters for the record
An instruction log with dates, minutes and skills is the document most often asked for at an intervention meeting.
