Fluency
Fluency is reading accurately, at a reasonable pace, with expression, so that attention is free for meaning.
It grows as more words are mapped and recognised instantly. It is usually measured in words read correctly per minute on a suitable text, alongside accuracy.
Why it matters for the record
A note on fluency after decodable text reading, even a rough one, shows transfer that word lists cannot.
